Central Minnesota Council Jamboree troops 1417 and 1418 held their pre-Jamboree training weekend June 22-24, 2001 at Parker Scout Reservation.
The boys constructed their campsites in the manner they will at the Jamboree. They got to try out all the tents, tarps, flag pole, kitchen boxes, stoves and equipment they will be using at jamboree. Patrols prepared breakfasts and suppers using propane stoves, recycling and waste disposal techniques that will be done at A.P. Hill. They learned to wash dishes with a final sanitizing rinse and carried gray water and recyclables back for disposal. The gateway was erected and more work done on it.
There were presentations and instruction on the jamboree program and safety precautions. Patrols planned songs and skits for a campfire, played games, and worked on jamboree program planning.
After many weeks of rain, the contingent leaders were grateful for a sunny weekend so all equipment was dry when it was packed up for transport to the jamboree.
